ABOUT US

Lexington United is a licensed member of the Pioneer Region of USA Volleyball. Our club teams compete at the top level both within the region and around the nation. We proudly train our athletes by focusing on ball handling and fundamentally sound technique. We have proudly built our reputation on developing the most well-rounded, talented athletes in the area and operating with integrity, class and respect. This is demonstrated in the number of our athletes who are recruited to college programs throughout the country. Our list of alumnae is the most impressive in the area and rapidly growing.

Lexington United works to provide the best volleyball training in central Kentucky. We set out to teach not only the skills of the game of volleyball but also the personal attributes of leadership, a strong work ethic, responsibility, discipline and commitment. We welcome everyone (both athletes who have previous volleyball experience, and those new to the game). We promise to treat all of our athletes like young women not professional athletes. We expect volleyball to be a priority behind both family and school.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (AND ANSWERS)

What is Lexington United?
Lexington United is a volleyball club that carries club teams for athletes from younger than 10 to 18-years-old. Our teams compete around the state and country against other volleyball clubs and teams.

How is Lexington United different from other clubs?
Lexington United exists to serve three purposes: to promote the development of well-rounded, mature young adults, to provide access to higher education by preparing athletes to play at the collegiate level and to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. Unlike other volleyball organizations, the goal of Lexington United is not strictly to develop volleyball players. Instead, we focus on developing the athlete into a responsible, respectful, hardworking member of a team. We use volleyball as a vehicle to teach young athletes skills that will help them socially, academically, and professionally throughout their life. Collegiate volleyball is also a great way for athletes to get some, if not all of their higher education paid for. Lexington United best prepares its athletes for this opportunity.

How do I start playing at Lexington United?
We understand everyone has a different commitment level and volleyball goals, so we offer a variety of playing options! We welcome beginner volleyball players and LOVE to see new faces in the gym. You can join a team, and/or attend our camps, clinics, small groups and training programs.

Lexington United:

What types of teams do you offer?
Lexington United offers four divisions/levels of teams: National, Midwest, Regional and TNT. The "National" division teams will be the highest commitment level and are geared towards athletes who want to play volleyball at the top level. The "TNT" division teams are a lower commitment level and are a great fit for athletes who are newer to the sport or don't want to travel as much. Please note the information to the right is tentative for the 2022-2023 season and subject to change.

How do I join a team?
These teams are formed once a year at our fall tryout/team evaluations. Anyone interested in playing on a Lexington United team (any division) should attend tryouts. Registration can be found here.

Who can play on a team?
Our teams are open to girls ages 9-18 of any experience level. Athletes between 7-11 will be considered 10's or 11's.

What do your team names mean?
Elite is the top program followed by Baden and National. Midwest teams are run under Black and Blue.  Regional is white and Grey. TNT follows a similar color scheme but is dependent on team names.  These team names delineate team level.

How much does it cost to play on a team?
You can view the cost to play as well as the due dates for each payment on the individual team pages.

How and when do I pay team club dues?
There is an initial tryout fee of $300. This works as a tryout fee of $150 and a deposit of $150 ($150+$150=$300).  Tryout fee will be refunded $150 if an athlete is not placed on a team and chooses not to tryout for TNT.  Payments are split monthly from that point on depending on the level of team.

What all is included in my team club dues?
Club dues include your court rental fees for training, coaches' and trainers' salaries, tournament entry fees, part of your uniform package, registration fees. Coach travel expenses are not included.

Who will my team's coach be?
Coaches are not assigned until tryouts.  This is so we get a grasp of what each team needs before assigning coaches to teams.
